The Shaman was..irreverent. Lilith found his lack of respect grating, but he only flashed her a toothy grin. He had been the one to answer her letter, to spin the tale of fighting something like an Emperor. His eyes raked across her, soaking her in as he tapped the bronze claws against his other hand. They made slight indents into the darkened skin.
Lilith had never been so..so irked! By this man in front of her. She shifted her glowing gaze over his form and clutched the letter in one claw. He’d even sauntered in here as a dark-tanned dragonborn than as an actual dragon. She had no clue how large he was normally, but right now he was dwarfed by even the slim skydancer. It made his lord-like appearance run shivers down her spine.
Dugan finally cleared his throat. “Nacoda, was it?” He asked, his voice a slow ring. Crowe felt his cousin feel..uneasy. This man did radiate a certain flair, if not for narcissism or something else.
He shot a glance at the cousins. “Coda, please. It’s easier than my formal name.” Coda folded an arm across his dark chest, his furs hanging heavy. Lilith finally released a breath and began to speak.
“I am told you’ve actually been in a few war bands that have taken down the cursed children?” She asked slowly, smoothing out herself on the furs. She looked languid, the skull watching him as she seemed to try and strip him apart with her eyes.
Coda gave a slight grin. “Yes, your majesty~” He murmured, giving a bow. The title made Lilith grimace, her lips pulling back in disgust. “I am a Priestess of the Plaguebringer, nothing more.” She corrected him. Coda showed a nod of respect.
“Priestess Lilith, then.” He corrected himself with a light hearted tone.
Lilith continued. “Beneath us in the main chamber is one..trapped, for now. But our hold grows steadily weaker. My nephews and I can only do so much with our current force. We had hoped to buy your advice and perhaps your strength.”
“Well, I suppose that would be fine. What are you offering?” Coda leaned his head back, rubbing the back of his neck idly.
They went back and forth for awhile, and every single offer, the man shot down immediately. It began to make Lilith lose her cool. In a moment of irritation, she finally snapped. “Well, then, what is it you DO demand, Shaman Coda?”
Coda’s grin slowly split his face wide as he gazed at the skydancer.
