Random tidbits about the book series I'm working on just for fun
DISCLAIMER: THE FIRST BOOK IS NOWHERE NEAR READY SO PLEASE DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING ANYTIME SOON
Moonbloom Academy, the school that the series is getting its namesake from, is a school for monsters, called "creatures" and "beings" by themselves ("monster" is an insult given to them by humans) and is on an island disconnected from society
The reason for this is that creatures from all over the world are welcome to attend so long as they pass the entrance exams and the founder wanted all creatures to be able to meet on an even playing field, so to say
The ferry that takes students to the school starts in Norway and students are expected to travel there if they wish to attend. Accomadations are available upon request so long as there's a reasonable amount of time for the accomadation(s) to be put in place
The only beings who know where the island Moonbloom Academy is located on are those who live in the town outside campus and staff. The location is top secret to decrease the possibility of humans finding the school, specifically "monster hunters"
Students are allowed to go to the town off campus if their marks are considered "passing" all their classes (American public school education system would be a C or higher in this case). They are also permitted to work part-time jobs in the town so long as they can prove that they can keep up with their studies
There are may different school clubs and students can start their own school clubs if they meet the proper requirements, which are having at least 5 members upon club creation, having a member of staff agree to be in charge of the club, and if all 5 initial members currently have passing marks. Any student in their second year or higher is able to do this. First years can be part of the 5 initial members, but cannot be the one to officially start the club
Moonbloom Academy has various sports teams that compete with other schools, but they never have home games. They are always the visiting team to help keep the school's location secret. Currently, their team with the best win record is their rugby team and their team with the worst win record is their cricket team
Sports teams are considered clubs. Students can only be in one club at a time, but they are free to change which club they're in each year
That's all for now because I be yapping
