I rewatched ep 5 Asylum with my sister and brother-in-law today and I literally struggled the whole time not to A: blurt out facts or B: emotionally react to every little thing. Literally heart wrenching television. Oscar Isaac Emmy nom when?!

I remember trying to make my mom watch the first two episodes and the whole time I'm just completely vibrating in my seat. Absolutely batshit over it. She kinda squinted at Marc when he first showed up in the mirror like who the fuck is this guy, weird and my ass was like no you don't understand he's trying to save him that's his brother.
If baby likes elephants, did she get interested in them because they are related to dugongs? What does she think about their weird tiny cousin the rock hyrax?
her love for elephants began when she was super young and stems from that ubiquitous little kid amazement with Cool Looking Animals: she just thought they were neat. but learning that elephants were related to dugongs was what alerted baby to the complex relationships between species and ignited her love for charting the etymology and taxonomy of all these animals she loved in addition to their biology. its just so cool to her!! and she thinks the rock hyrax is so cute!! she Loves to show someone a picture of one and be like "what animal do u think this one is related to?" all the while smiling like :> because she can't wait to surprise them with the fact that they're most closely related to elephants. this is what humor is to baby.
Trick or treat Syd! I hope Baby gets to try some good candy (nerds gummy clusters are a must) and she got to dress as her favorite niche aquatic creature 💕
u know, i have heard so much about nerds gummy clusters this year, it’s so interesting?? they remind me of the discontinued giant chewy nerds, which shaped my childhood. but yes, baby got plenty of nerds last night, as well as skittles and starbursts, and while she was too scared to formally go trick or treating, she had a good time being a vampire squid (“it’s halloweeny!!”) and watching peanuts!!

Syd, my family has been re-watching ER and every time I see a med student or an intern or even a resident I’m sitting there thinking “nice Syd reference” and then I’m thinking there is NO WAY even the most metropolitan ER is getting that many wild incidents and patients!
thats so sweet u think of me :') i hope i make it to be in their shoes....and ur so right, part of the reason i never watch any of those medical shows (beyond just i dont want to engage with more work stuff at home) is the fact that every patient walking thru the door has some crazy rare condition or wild injury. where are the poor patients who can't afford their dialysis or their hypertension medication and are coming to the er for it? where are the parents who are following the instructions to take their <3mo baby to the er for any temperature over 100.4 to a t?? where are the chronically ill people........
