I’ve had two major setbacks. One) I blew out one of the amps somehow, and now i only have one leaving my speaker set up non-functional.
Two) The right side isnt responsive always, and thus i may have to rewire the entire thing.
Im going to go through the parts I used for this to get a general idea of how much it cost, and how much it would cost if i didnt have access to anything.
(Excuse the poor formatting, ill go back and reformat later)

FINISH
I visited Radioshack today and now i have a pretty good understanding how my power set up would work. I have both a “M” type wall plug (that came with the lepai, 13v at 3 amps), and today i bought an interchangable car plug, that can accept any letter type end. I also bought an “M” type end for that as well, so either i can plug it into the wall, or my car.
For the set up ill need 2 DPDT ON/OFF/ON Switches, another “M” type plug, the plug acceptor (that converts the easy acceptor end into solderable wires), and some wire. The set up will have 3 definite positions. 1) Charge battery, 2) Run from wall/car power and 3) run from battery (with a possible 4th being charge and run from battery simultaneously, if the charge controller will allow it), and these three/four positions will depend on the position of the two switches. Ill also need an “M” type jack which i found here on radioshack, but would prefer to find on amazon.
SO i decided to combine Boombox 3 (trumpet case a.k.a. Louie) and my ampbox. To do this, ill need 6 more DPDT heavy duty ON/OFF/ON Switches, and 6 ports. Assume the system will be symmetrical across R and L. One of each will go inbetween the amp and the crossover, so either i can power the crossover, or a speaker with the full range on each side. Then the other 2 on each side will go inbetween the Crossover and the Mid, and the crossover and the sub, so i can plug in an external mid and/or external sub. Each switch will control them individually so i can urn however many on or off.
DECIDING ON AN AMP:
Currently I need to pick which amp i’m going to use for my boombox. I thought i was going with the ...
Lepai LP-2020A+ for 26.75 (orin 35.00)
however now im looking at both the
Lepai BTL (A6FM-USB) for 16.60 (orig. 50.00) Lepai A68 for 26.90 (orig. 40.00)
If anyone know about the second two let me k now (i already own two of the first but the remote and radio options seem nice, also the power is 12v at 2 amps instead of 13 v at 3 amps.
My PYLE speakers came today. Two 6.5 inch midwoofers, 2 2-way crossovers, and 2 tweeters. I’m using the tweeters in this boombox. This case continues to surprise me with how perfect it fits everything. The tweeters fit EXACTLY underneath the mounted crossovers. There’s barely any tolerance between them.
Previously i had covered the nuts in epoxy to prevent them from turning on their own incase the super glue isn’t strong enough. Also, i glued in nuts over the hole of the crossovers so i can unscrew them from the outside.
