❝ i always stand like this , i don’t see what the big deal is. ❞ @bornleder / 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎𝚍.
there were the hard days, the days when he remembered the dead, the dying and the walkers. he had seen enough groups succumb to the dead, seen enough communities fall, sometimes to the muertos, sometimes to other survivors. but then some days were easier than others, the mind numbing routine of survival was simple and clear, allowing him to lose himself in the habits of waking up, hunting, killing muertos and moving on, never remaining in a single place for too long, never letting himself dwell on the bad. he had been alone for too long to allow that to happen, knowing that if he did then it would all be over so he lived one day at a time. repeating the same cycle over and over and over again.
it was an easy day, there were few muertos in the forest, giving him a chance to hunt in relative piece and perhaps that had been his first mistake, allowing the illusion of relative safety to goad him into a false sense of security. he hadn’t noticed the living until she was right on his heels and nate spun sharply, bow strung and aimed in a single fluid movement. “ you always creep up on people like that ? ” his voice was hoarse from lack of use, he couldn’t remember the last time he had opened his mouth and sounds had come out but she was alive. living and breathing and she hadn’t tried to kill him. not yet anyway. // @bornleder ♡’d for starter
