In the mirror my reflection lies to me
That is not the man I want to see
But every harvest takes me closer to my aim
I will be there as soon as darkness falls
My life is but a heartbeat away
And all you've ever had will soon belong to me
In morte ultima veritas
You will kneel before me
And you will confess that I'm God
Vincit veritas in omni re
Save me your prayers
For death is the answer to life
((So I’m not sure how many of you follow my other rp blogs but I wanna start doing a weekly thing. I pick one of my rp blogs, post a song from that blog’s playlist, and briefly discuss why I associate it with that muse.))
((In this case it’s a mix of both the lyrics and the sound itself. I often think of Magolor as having sort of this inner turmoil of right and wrong. The first verse reflects this. Thinking in terms of during the events of RtDL, he knows what he’s doing is wrong, but the reward is too tempting to ignore. The chorus would be once he has the Master Crown, obviously.))
((The reprise with the female vocalist toward the end COULD, MAYBE be thought of as the Lor Starcutter’s AI, but that’s a slight stretch considering the word “brother” is used and the Lor itself never opposed what Magolor was doing in canon. This would be more of a headcanon thing at most, but still worth mentioning.))
((The sound itself and the performance of the vocals are very powerful and emotional. You can really get a sense of the inner struggle from not only the words, but how they’re being uttered. The choir in the chorus and the symphonic metal style both invoke... power. That’s kind of the best way I can put it. It definitely matches the tone of, say, a sorcerer gone mad with power and intending to use that power to obliterate anyone or anything that stands in the way of what he wants.))
