Something weird is going on. Tonight I came home from my parents’ house and decided I wanted to play. But instead of jumping into the usual stuff, I started messing with this digital multi-effect pedal that my drummer let me borrow months ago (good thing he doesn’t use it haha). Getting inspired, I wanted to play my Boss Flanger next. I’ve been saving this pedal for something. And that’s when I noticed it. The pedal was open and the battery was gone.
So I texted my boyfriend asking him where he put the battery, and he claimed he never touched it. What the hell! How does a pedal magically open and a battery disappear? It’s been sitting in the living room for months, and no one’s been over. I did end up finding a loose battery a couple feet away, but when I plugged it back in it didn’t work. And what’s stranger is that the power adapter that I usually use didn’t work on it. I tried it out on my Boss MT-2 pedal as well and strange enough it didn’t work on that either!
But here’s the kicker - I had just used that adapter with the MT-2 pedal last week, and it worked fine. I also tried it on my other pedals like the Big Muff, and it worked so it’s not the adapter. I think something is going on with the Boss pedals. I did notice a small caution sticker on the back of the pedal saying to only use Boss adapters. What I don’t get is that I’ve been using a smaller adapter, successfully, up until today so why has it stopped working all of a sudden? What’s going on Boss?
