Teen drivers. I find myself wishing I could get a magnet for the back of my car that says “If you value your life, stay back three car lengths. Teen learning to drive.” ... A few pointers: 1. Yelling never helps. It only adds to the stress they’re already experiencing. 2. It can be useful-and I recommend it-to pray with your teen before they start the car. May God disperse angels around the vehicle! 3. Keep them on back roads until you’re positive they have a good handle on the vehicle, and practice during non-traffic hours. 4. Encourage. Correct. Encourage. 5. Don’t let them drive when you have other people’s kids in the car.
