🥳🥳🥳 Though Boun Awk Phansa is on October 10th, the festive season of Laos starts this weekends with plenty of playgrounds, beer gardens, or trade fairs opening throughout the country. In Luang Prabang, one of the biggest festivals, Boun Lai Heua Fai or Festival of the boats of light will be celebrated from today until October 12th with plenty of festive activities. In Vientiane, the exciting boat racing festival also begins from this weekends and reaches its peak on October 11th. Boun Awk Phansa- Buddhist Lent 

Boun Awk Phansa is a Buddhist celebration that occurs late October each year, three lunar months after Khao Phansa (on the 15th day of the 11th month of the lunar calendar). I caught this awesome celebration on arrival in Luang Prabang, Laos, a few weeks ago.
