🐕 ADOPT MAXWELL 🐕 Maxwell thinks you should consider bringing him home with you today! This eight-year-old gentleman has been with us since early January, and is ready to find his adoptive family. Our team has gotten to know him quite well, and even paired him up on a short-term foster trip (A Bow Wow Breakout, if you will) that he loved! Maxwell really enjoyed riding in the cart, and had a great time walking around a few of our local parks. He never says no to a belly rub, and made a ton of friends while outside the shelter. He is a great dog who deserves a great home. Our Pet Pantry is in desperate need of donations so we can ensure we have plenty of pet food to pass out at the event! Our shelter is open 7 days a week from 10am – 4pm and you can drop off donations right outside our doors in our donation bin. We also accept delivered donations, so if you prefer to order something online, you can have it shipped directly to our shelter! Donations can also be dropped off after-hours outside our doors and we will pick it up in the morning. Thank you Nashville! We also celebrated 199 adoptions! 🥳 Our rescue partners transferred 73 animals from MACC. 8 adult cats were transferred to Pet Community Center for the Community Cat Program and 4 adult cats were accepted for Working (Barn) Cat Placement. Thanks in large part to your likes, shares and comments on the #StrayOfTheDay posts, 106 lost pets were returned to their owners. 👏 75 animals who were too young for adoption, needed time to heal before adoption, or just needed a break from the shelter were sent to foster care last month! Most of those were dogs getting a break from the shelter through our #BowWowBreakout program! . . . . Thank you for the support you have shown for the animals in the Nashville community! If you are looking to be more involved in your community in 2020, we would love to have you join the #MACCpack! He is available for adoption at MACC - we are open 10am to 4pm today! . . . Today is the last day of our Veterans Day adoption event, where adoption fees are waived for former and active duty military service members and their immediate families. We are grateful for your service! 🇺🇸 We are also seeking short term foster homes for our adoptable dogs to spend the holiday on a Bow Wow Breakout. We have 40 dogs available for adoption and foster, and they would rather hang out with you than sleep at the shelter while we are closed tomorrow for Veterans Day holiday. Simply come by MACC today, talk with a counselor, and take a pup home for 2 nights! We re-open at 10am on Tuesday. 5125 Harding Place, Nashville. 🚙 🐶 . . "Kip is a super sweet dog with lots of potential. He has great recall so it’s easy to redirect his focus. He’s great at entertaining himself with toys or a ball in the yard. He may come over for reassurance but once he gets it he’s back having fun! He loves car rides and likes to stand on the console between the front seats to get the best view - he’d make a great co-pilot 😉 He’ll make sure you’re tucked in for the night and then find a comfortable spot for himself so no need to worry about having to share your bed! He appears house trained and will let you know when he has to go out. Energy level is definitely high right now. He’s sort of a 0-100 dog with not much in between! He does appear to have a high prey drive and is unsure what to do in interactions with other animals. I think he mostly wants to play but doesn’t know how to ask! #Repost @nashanimalcare ・・・ Hi, my name is Bo! I'm approximately five years old and 50 lbs. I’m all smiles because I’m today’s #FreeFursday feature, which means my adoption fee is waived TODAY! A little about me: I am a fun dog who ❤️ stuffies, fetch and leisurely walks with my person. After a nice stroll, me (and my stuffed animal) will be ready for couch snuggles! 🥰 I went on a #BowWowBreakout recently, and this is what my foster parent says: “Bo was so sweet and was very gentle with the other 4 year old dog in the home. He did really well in the car and was well-behaved overall. Bo definitely needs a forever home where he can lounge and spread out--he is medium activity level but really loves a good relaxation time. It was impossible for us not to fall in love with Bo! Bo showed no signs of any dog aggression with the other dog and was not reactive to the cat in the home either. Seems to be house trained as well--no accidents in the house and used the bathroom on walks. He could use a little more leash training, as he's a very strong pup, but did well on walks overall. Fun fact about Bo: he loves stuffed animals!” The shelter is open until 6 p.m. today, so there’s still plenty of time for you to come adopt me with the adoption fee waived!
