“Braided Rivers”: Beautiful Landscapes From Above By Kevin Krautgartner
Braided river systems are beautiful and full of life! But easily threatened by invasive plants. In the South Island of NZ, Russel lupins interfere with the water flow and change the ecosystem, threatening native plants and animals and the structure of the river itself.

Electric Blue
Braided rivers race across my skin Soaking into my veins The icy waters mixing with the flames in my blood They rage together As if in a fierce battle for the delta Raging raging against each other Currents splashing I glance down and see a mix of fiery fire And ice, clashing clashing Sounds echoing in my bones (Soundless and deathless is that sound) The threads reach upwards into the sky Fingers grasping for the silken colors The aurora borealis glistens And sinks away into a pelt of darkness (Soundless and deathless is that sound)
