The thought of your touch
To the feel of your skin on my own
And the caress of your vocal romance on my ears
Was a thousand times superior, in my mind
To the pixel words of love you'd send me
This new feeling sprung anew within me
And my soul sung as it blamed you for this;
Your radiance, I thought, shone into my being
As love's idea faded to reality
But soon I found that the ropes and nets
You supported me with, kept me close with
And I was becoming trapped
Marooned in a sea of your love, clinging to driftwood
The waves of sentiment pulling me away
Soon we were magnets, facing the wrong way
Repelling, causing a retreat
And the rope you threw to save us unraveled to string
The fog of idea faded, and I found
But a mirage caused by need
And the idea that had brought me to you
Was what had caused me to fall in truth
