Hello! Sorry if you've answered this question before but I couldn't find anything: How do I become a typesetter/cleaner? I've never done something like this and I'm not studying anything with art, but I think I would be able to do it! Do you have any tips for me maybe? Do I have to exercise first? Or just be lucky and find someone who wants to train beginners? Thank you in advance! :)
Hmm well this is my first time doing anything official, it’s something that you just kind of get used to. For cleaning, it’s mostly just blocking out the text with white and copy/pasting pattern where needed (for places where they have screen tones, it’s kind of hard to explain)
As for typesetting, find a good font (I use Anime Ace) and standard size (for Pochamani I usually use 24 if it will fit, I’ll adjust it for bigger or smaller bubbles) and try to keep the text in the center of the bubble with a good amount of space between the outline of the bubble and the text itself. A really good typesetting reference (that someone else sent me before) is here.
If you want I can make a post showing my process.
