💘 Someone my character has a crush on:

Presently, no-one. This is only a recent development, however. For a good while Whirl was developing a genuine interest in a specific Brainstorm that he met via the multiverse. The qualities that attracted Whirl to Brainstorm were his brilliance, his confidence (well, arrogance, but Whirl can dig arrogance as long as the party in question can back it up), his recklessness, how simply interesting he was, and his uniquely devious and destructive mind. More importantly, though, they established a pretty good working relationship with one another; Brainstorm respected Whirl’s combat experience and practical expertise regarding weaponry, and Whirl respected Brainstorm’s genius and imagination. They got along with surprising ease both in and out of the lab. In addition to being one nicely rolled-up package of qualities that Whirl respected and desired, Brainstorm accomplished a rare feat: he made, in some small way, Whirl feel good about himself.They have since fallen out of contact and gone their separate ways, however. Whirl isn’t really bitter about it (probably to his own surprise). He finds he looks back on those memories fondly.

Something fun the engineer has learned about the multiverse that has proven useful on many occasions, is that when in close proximity to a local alternate, a multiversal mech such as himself can often pick up transmissions intended for the other; in this case a comm frequency.

Currently, he was casually strolling through The Lost Light, considering a detour to swerves (the best place to get any question answered and no one will remember you asking it if you’re talking to the right mech) when the comm came through. It held a lot of similarities with the frequencies of other Rungs, and it sounded like a Rung…

But did Rung sound angry? This he had to see.

::Well, I’m a very busy mech, but I suppose if it’s an interesting project I can make the time.:: He did have a multidimensional gate at his personal disposal, and after that, playing with time was a simple task. ::What do you have in mind?:: Just because he’s interested doesn’t mean he can break cover; so this Rung will have to sell him as well as he would his alternate.

Still standing there in the hallway, Rung tried to plan out what he was going to ask for. Digits twitched within his fists.

::Perceptor’s containment field for my model ships has been breached one time too many. M-my ships... my ships are being wrecked one by one somehow. I was hoping you could provide me with something more protective but still simple for me to get through - maybe something coded for only one mech to access. I-I... I’m not the engineer here, though, but you get the idea.::

::But that’s more of a side project. I was thinking I need something else, something more proactive. I have a surveillance system already installed, but that’s been of little help, and it’s only retroactively useful. I was wondering if you had any suggestions, something possibly weaponized to prevent theft before it happens? Some special locks, something...?::

Rung’s voice trailed off at the end, a little desperation noticeable in his voice.

“Yessir! I’ll be careful!” He approached the scanner with care, despite it being several times his size. He doubted that even if he wanted to, he could break it. The human circled it a few times before sitting down, opening his laptop and accessing the local network. He had no idea what resonance theory was, but with an hour or two of quiet concentration he could be as well-read as any Cybertronian.

Rafael was studying the scanner closely, observing its workings from his steep angle. He plastered his face against one of its transparent surfaces, trying to see the crystals inside. “Um, Mister Brainstorm? Is that one crystal supposed to be a different color?” He stepped backwards, pointing at a crystal that was slightly yellowed compared to the rest of them.

A New Meeting

As he was doing one of these scans he detected the signal of a Cybertronian vessel out in deep space, and as he was never one to pass up on an opportunity, he sent out a greeting ping| [Greetings Cybertronian Vessel. My name is Metroplex, can you read me?]

69. Shattered

Rung prowled the corridors of the Lost Light, looking as furious as anybot had ever seen him. Admittedly that wasn’t very intimidating, his skinny limbs shaking and eyebrows almost digging into his noseplate. 

He wasn’t exactly going anywhere, but he certainly couldn’t sit still in his office, where the shattered remains of yet another of his models laid at rest. It was the third time this week he’d come into his office to find a new miniature wreck, always placed very intentionally in the middle of his desk. 

He didn’t know who’d done it, or how, or what he could do to stop them from striking again. Thankfully though, a bolt of inspiration hit him, strong enough to make him stop in his tracks in the hallway.

::Brainstorm.:: he comm’d, residual anger still spilling over in his glyphs. ::Please tell me you have room in your schedule for a commission project or two.::

11. Walking through a haunted house

“I’m aware you think of this as a waste of time, Brainstorm,” Thunderclash remarked, trying to keep a check on his patience. “But please respect the fact that I don’t. This place is full of sorrow.”

They were exploring the remains of a planet that had been decimated during the Great War. Although the battlefield had long been cleared of remains, there was still an eerie feeling in the air. Brainstorm was eager to get back to their business, but the legendary Autobot insisted upon lingering.

“Give me a few minutes? I know a ritual that may help cleanse this place. Primus knows it dearly needs it. If no one else will help these restless spirits, the least I can do is try.”
