When visiting any sort of popular national parks, wild land or hiking trails, we always look for those hidden extras that are often less traveled and overlooked by tourists. Like this hike for example, the Lava Lake Loop, which is located within the Brandywine Falls Provincial Park that's a swift drive South from Whistler, BC. We remember being especially terrified in these images as the loop was desolate, deadly silent and seemingly never ending. But that's not what put the chills into our bones, on this day, we had not bothered taking any bear spray as we had only planned on visiting the neighboring, and populated, waterfall which is a short walk from the parking lot. After walking a mile or so into the Lava Lake Loop, we heard wildlife activity that definitely orchestrated the cracking of large grounded sticks and much rustling. I particularly remember my mouth becoming parched very quickly followed by a loud gulp. It seemed like we were worlds away from anyone but nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience and one that made us never forget basic protection when walking any wild terrains of rural Canada! #lavalakeloop #brandywinefalls #provincialpark #whistler #bc #britishcolumbia #hiking #trail #wildlife #roundtheworldmagazine #hikingwhistler (at Brandywine Falls Provincial Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/COOYM33suvo/?igshid=1cp9k5i69s3cs
