it was shown in a comic that she got her infliction from kval shrapnel, but with the th confirming she has esp, does that mean the injury has since been decanonized?

no, they're two components of the same thing, injury and trauma.

the shrapnel gave her the damage, which then caused the ESP

think of how when someone gets a burn on their skin, it stays as a permanent scar. or, a better example, mental trauma and PTSD; ESP is inherently a trauma-based effect and is never actually the CAUSE. you aren't "attacked by ESP", you're attacked by something else that then gives you the trauma of the attack
