“Come on hon, sit down for me.”
Brett stood blocking their bedroom door, trying not to spill an over-filled glass of water whilst herding Reagan back into bed. "Don't be ridiculous, Brett-" She snivveled, putting up a feeble hand as he guided her back to the sheets, "I've had worse and still gone into work... remember when I came in with rabies?" He chuckled nervously recalling that morning, and recalling his own very prompt rabies shot after Raegan bit him. "Yeah, and that was uhh.. not good!" He smiled still and laid the glass down on their bedside, saying absentmindedly "But no more of that on my watch, not while nurse Hand is on the case!"
Reagan slid back under the covers, groaning defeatedly as her boyfriend tucked her in. She snickered still and slid in a crude comment. "Are you a... sexy nurse by any chance?" She outstretched her hand just to give his tie a tug and laugh heartily to herself for a second before being interrupted by a small coughing fit, sniffling and groaning with a phlem-y throat. "Sorry dude- I probably don't look very sexy... at least right now..." Brett retracted, looking down at his girlfriend: her pyjamas, sweaty ; her eyes, red and puffy , and a little dribble from her nose... all wrapped up in their bedsheets, in their bed, in their apartment. He lent down to place a chaste kiss on her forehead, beaded with cold sweat, "I think you look beautiful Rea..." For a second they shared silence.. before it was interupted by the spluttering of a very ill Reagan. "You gotta go- it's getting late..."
Brett glanced at his phone and quickly dismissed the time, turning his attention back to Reagan ,"Call me if you need me okay.. super sexy nurse Hand at your service, yeah?" He added a sincere look, to which she gave a soft, reassuring smile.
"Yeah…I'll call, don't worry about me."
