Intermission

Chanzea: As Doki has probably told all of you Iron’s soul is damaged and with that he can not fight nor wake from his coma, it would seem the pets are also spiritually linked to him and are the only things that kept him alive. With that being said the elemental gods must be stopped or the death of millions will ensue and we can’t allow how happened to our previous planet happen here, now in order to defeat the gods we must get the pets back. I called upon you Zemini, Diamond, Troji, Amaris, and even Doki because from experience you can go toe to toe with Iron which makes you capable of going against the gods. Each of you will fight a specific god based on what I know, I’ll also be giving you all your own elemental weapons. They won’t last forever so only use them when the time comes, it shall grant you the power of an elementals powers, strength, and speed (you can choose which weapon or element you want)

Zemini you will be fighting the lightning elemental Volt, he’ll be by the Hoover dam

Diamond, you will fighting the earth elemental Clay who can be found in an construction yard

Troji you will fight Ember who will at the nearest volcano

Amaris, you’ll be fighting Snow who will be near the lake

And Doki you will fight the wind elemental Gale who is at the airport

You all must fight not only to stay alive and help Iron but for the entire worlds sake, if we fail all of humanity will perish. I trust in you all *a light enters your hearts* NOW GO

Intervention & interpretation briefing

These are the notes I took from the collection = interpretation briefing. I think an important part of this project is making sure everyone is on the same page about what data we are collecting so that we can communicate it effectively.

Unit briefing & professionalism talk

These are my notes from the unit briefing and professionalism talk. I found it useful that we talked through the learning outcomes, as it helped me start to understand what I need to be focusing on in my research, and gave me somewhere to start. I also noted down the credits and dates for the Visual Communication in Context 2 unit, as well as the projects within it

collab 13th principle, breif

Today we had our briefing for our new 13th principle task and we got our groups too.

I’m with Jack, Alexandra, Eerin, Mia and Elizabeth which I’m really excited about because I know Jack and Alexandra's animations styles always look really cool, so I’m exited to see how this goes.

During the briefing not all of the group members were there so we couldn't be 100 percent with the decisions. But so far me and Alexandra are both producers and Jack is the Editor I also really want to be the sound deisgner aswell as I genuinely love doing it. Luckily Helen said you can do more than one- we have a group meeting arranged for friday so if none of the other members want to be the sound designer hopefully I can too.

For this brief we have to make a clip each representing the 13th principle using research and some kind of source. My source is from Guildes the stop motion animator as I messaged him on Instagram and got a reply. (to be continued in another post.)

The animation can be anything we want as long as it represents this 13th principle somehow and that the other group members animations ties in somehow.

So after the briefing our group members that were there (jack and Allexandra) had a call and decided we should try and meet bi-weekly and on a Friday that can just be a catch up/ feedback time. We also were thinking that because we have such unique styles maybe something other than the art style should tie it all together, like the colour scheme or something like that.

Lip sync briefing.

In todays lecture with Millie we had the lip sync briefing and made a quick practice animation in AE to practice how to do the mouth shapes keeping in mind the tips Millie gave us. Such as:

Animate the sound and not the words,  try to keep mouth shapes on for at least two frames so its readable, lightning before thunder (we make the mouth shapes before we say them.)

This was my finished animation from using Millie's pre-comps. Because of our past experience in after effects it was not that hard to do this, to have the mouth shapes animate on Millie had the master comp (with the head) and then the mouth shapes in a pre-comp within the master comp and we used the time re-map on the layer to move along the keyframes inside the pre-comp so that we get the different mouth shapes.

This was quite a fun way to play around with lip syncing and wasn't too hard either, I really enjoyed adding the secondary animation to the hear, face, hair and eyes, etc. I think it really brings the look of the animation together as opposed to just having the mouth shapes change.
