College and Family
I’m excited about college I truly am. Over a month ago I was more than ready to leave my home and be on my own. Lots can change in one month and best believe they did.
About a month ago, I found out the most important person to me has cancer.
Because of their reaction and everything they’ve said and done since then has opened my eyes. Everyone has bad habits and strives to be a better person. This was one of many wake up calls that I needed to reevaluate myself. This is the one that’s caught my attention most.
One night, two weeks ago, there was a big “Come to Jesus” meeting with my family. It was a big dispute but I’d finally admitted to myself that I do not want to leave.
I’ve been to every doctors appointment since I’ve found out. Minus one when I had prior plans that couldn’t be broken. I’m going to be at a hospital half my day Friday because I want to be there.
It kills me knowing I will be leaving and she will be here. I want to go to every Chemo appointment or at least be here when she gets home.
She is stronger than I will ever be. She has so much hope and is still so bright. She makes me believe in God and the power of prayer. She makes me want to be a better person and just so much more.
I don’t know how I can leave this fall.
I know she’d want me to go and start this new part of my life.
But I just want to know that the next time I come home, she will be there.
God...She will be there.
