Running to Leadville, Leadville Trail 100, Race arcoss the sky, Leadville Co, LT100, Ultra marathon, Western States, Hard rock 100
I had planed on writing about something different this evening... but then I went to the mail box and found out that my signed copy of Brian Burk's book Running to Leadville had come in. I haven't been able to put it down since!! I met Brian through one of the Colorado Trail Running sites, he is a friend of one of the members of COR (Colorado Obstacle Racers) and he was introduced to me after I had posted some questions about ultra running. Leadville is a dream of mine and I wanted to hear the stories that someone who has been there had to tell.
So far I can say that Brian has a great voice and weaves a captivating story. I will warn you the first five chapters are a bit sad so expect some tears. I'm now truly wondering how much of this book is fiction and how much stems from real life.
Finally, I have never read a book before that came with a thank you note. I must say it is a bit different!! I do love the inscription he put into my book (I will post pictures once I'm done reading.)
It said:
If you run you can Fly... #RunEpic
I can't wait to finish reading Running to Leadville. I don't think it will take me very long, as I said I'm having trouble walking away from it! I will post more once I'm done.
