upon her return to highgarden, the princess of the reach had started to make frequent visits to her childhood home, oldtown. her visits mostly consisted of her visiting and overseeing the new school house; construction having started and long underway. in a few more weeks, she expected the construction to be complete and they would be able to enter their final planning phase which was to furnish the school and finalizing a curriculum. today’s visit was for a different reason though. with laena as her lady of the bedchamber; holding the official position of florence's personal attendant (though florence often strived to ensure that laena’s duties limited in nature; wanting her friend to have time to maintain her embroidery work), and seffora merryweather as her newest lady-in-waiting, she was still in need of two court ladies and a handmaid. and while two lady-in-waiting positions would likely be filled by nobles recommended by the tyrells, florence reserved the last position for an old friend.
florence first met odette feathers when she still called oldtown home; florence was still in her adolescenet years, while odette was still elementary age. as a daughter of a baker, odette often gave florence leftovers from her family’s shop for her to take. but as the girl grew older, and the pair grew closer, florence learned that oddete’s dream was to become a handmaiden to a titled lady. it was a dream that florence never considered would even be remotely possible, but the universe appeared to have a difference plan for them both. she entered the bakery while her two guards remained outside.
“i’m looking for a miss oddette feathers?” she asked one of the workers.
