When I was reading The Captive Prince books for the first time, one detail that struck me as odd was that the Regent's name was never mentioned, despite him being such an important character. That is, until I got to this part:

And then it hit me. That was the reason. The Regent was a traitor, so his name was erased from history. No one will remember him. Not even the readers.
