I've watched clips and scenes before, but never a complete episode, no. Luckily I have friends who fill me in, as well as tumblr, but yeah. I want to start watching it, but despite my extensive knowledge, I don't want to start in season 7.

Yeah, I understand your point, but again it had JUST happened, you know? I think the first reactions for everyone is to be too shocked to do anything else. That’s why I wouldn’t imagine everyone screaming and sobbing just like that.

You know that this part was from Harry’s in-shock POV, right? And one of things he was noticing was the girls screaming and crying? Also, does the phrase “the boys were screaming, sobbing hysterically” sound like a non-WTF description?
For one thing, I think that in Harry's in-shock state would not really enable him to make the distinction between girls' voices and boys' voices - everything he's taking in is very vague, and for the most part she says various sounds, voices blending together, etc. If everything is kind of blurring together, I don't think he would specifically identify the gender of the voices.
And I don't think she should've said "Boys were screaming, sobbing hysterically." That would most definitely have been weird. I think she should've said people, or voices. I don't understand why it was necessary to state the gender of the people screaming and crying, when I imagine it would be the entire crowd, and either way I don't think Harry was in any state to identify their gender.

Sexism? Seriously ? I mean, boys CAN scream and sob hysterically but boys and girls don’t react the same way, that’s just a fact. I can imagine a whole bunch of fangirls screaming and sobbing for Cedric, it’s harder to imagine EVERYONE do that.
I mean, I know that girls and boys don't react the same way to everything, and there might be situations that make more girls scream and sob hysterically than boys, but if two students come out of a tournament, one dead and one severely injured, I imagine EVERYONE would be screaming and sobbing. It's not necessarily because they're Cedric's "fangirls," it's because someone who they've known for years, someone who they thought was completely safe just DIED.
I don't think it's necessary to say "girl were screaming and sobbing hysterically" instead of "people were screaming and sobbing hysterically" or "voices were screaming and sobbing hysterically."
