“But I wasn’t!” Peter counters immediately, shrugging his shoulders as his hands move about- they tend to do that as he struggles for words, or, well, all the time, he gestures a lot-She’s right; he DOES have a tendency to throw himself into dangerous situations without so much as a second thought, but he does it to SAVE people. He does it out of the sheer instinct to help, and sure, it might go wrong here and there, but that’s the risk he has to take! And even if he just ends up saving one person, that’s better than none, isn’t it? 

“It’s okay, Gwen, I swear. I’m completely fine!” Well, aside from a few bruises here and there ( actually, his right shoulder really hurts, but he won’t bring that up right now ), but it’s not like he was really injured or anything! “You don’t have to worry about me, I can handle dangerous! Well– uh, mostly-”

They could always go see the real ball drop, but that’s freezing cold, and just about a million teenage parties are being held across the city with the live feed on the TV anyways. Peter isn’t really ever invited to parties, but just about anyone is coming to this one, and he ends up being convinced. Just in case, he has his suit with him– one never knows when trouble could come about, but he miraculously makes it the whole night without EVER having to leave. And by the time the countdown arrives, he participates with everyone else, the stupid hat on his head along with a noisemaker, despite how much all the music and talking HURTS (he’s bound to have a horrible headache after all this). Once the clock STRIKES twelve everyone is cheering, drinking from glasses and kissing somebody else. He doesn’t expect Gwen’s lips against his cheek, but a grin spreads across his face as warmth blossoms through them. “Oh– uh, happy new year, Gwen!”

❛ i’m just finishing up, hold on just a second. ❜ peter remarked, not once glancing to see who it was that walked into the lab. after putting away the last of the lab equipment, he turned to see a familiar face. ❛ oh uh —— hey ! i thought you were miss warren. ❜ he remarked, tossing his backpack over his shoulder before fully straightening his composure. ❛ did you need to use the lab too ? i can get the stuff back out —— i didn’t know anyone else was going to be using it. ❜

“Can we go on the Star Wars ride?!” Peter says excitedly, having just emptied the souvenir bucket of popcorn, and still jumping with sheer energy. He’s been looking forward to this one the entire time, already having gotten a glimpse of one of the shows, a stormtrooper parade, and even a giant AT-AT! “It looks so fun.”
