Last summer, we welcomed our friends Troma to Brooklyn Fire Proof to shoot elements of director/founder Lloyd Kaufman’s latest opus, “Shakespeare’s Shitstorm.” They shot a great deal of the film’s exteriors in our back alley/backlot, including a wild protest scene. They also used our Studios 1, 2, and 3 for some set builds, and to take advantage of the NY QPF tax incentive. Troma is an underground NYC film institution, but they generally can’t afford to shoot in NYC! Brooklyn Fire Proof got involved in this project to help get Troma back to NYC, and BFP’s Kenneth Filmer and Thomas Burr Dodd became co-executive producers of this sure-to-be-interesting film. Troma is doing some focus group screenings of the film now, and it should officially launch soon and we’ll definitely let you know. Brooklyn Fire Proof was honored to work with Troma, and we should remind everyone that we are more than happy to work with any production at any budget level, and besides our QPF soundstages, we have a vast array of interesting industrial locations available for features, TV shows, commericals, music videos, photo shoots, or anything else.
