I've noticed with Riley there seems to be a shown with a consistent imagery with their self image shown through how they perceive themself when exposed to their reflection.
In this comic, Rylie gazes upon themself from the reflection a body of water and sees cracks around their body, representing how they see themself as broken.. But it can also he inferred just from their words alone as they spill out their insecurities.
In this reel, Rylie is again met with their reflection with the caption, "Negative self talk affects You more than you Think." and seems to feel uncomfortable with what they see in their reflection; similarly to the comic, but focusing a bit more on physical features.. Not being "Good Looking."
In Bruce_Bronze's most recent reel, Rylie is once again met with their reflection in supposedly the same setting and is shown to have a few similar reactions to their reflection. Pulling down their lower eye lids and touching their whiskers..
These three pieces show the overarching and underlying struggles Rylie has had in regards to their self image, but also steadily leads and increase of their behavior related to their harmful acts directed at themself. Within the first comic, Riley speaks negatively of themself. There tends to be a desensitization in more mondern times of self depreciation; but it truly is a concerning and harmful behavior that affects and shows how someone perceives themself. This negative self talk then turns into something physical, Rylie harming themself by cutting off their whiskers. Then it amps up again even further the next time by spiraling and punching the mirror in front of them with their bare hand.
Also, I'm not sure if this is meant to be symbolic or foreshadowing or something else, but Rylie within the comic having magenta or purple cracking along their body and then punching a mirror that appears purple within the lighting is very crazy to me.
