My absolute love of Christmas is well documented (see also: Brucemas). But not as well documented? The Christmas-related things that I loathe:
5. Band Aid - "Do they Know It's Christmas?" ... man, I just want to be nostalgic for my childhood and a simpler time when I didn't have to work long hours, had no responsibility, and wrote 12 page Christmas lists using crayon and smelly magic markers. Don't drop such heavy material on my playlist. But that's a classic Bono move.
4. "Wonderful Christmastime" ... there's nothing wonderful about this song, nor even Christmas-feeling about it. Paul McCartney, you're better than this.
3. Manheim Steamroller. What is it, even? If it was Cameron Manheim performing "Steamroller Blues" then that'd be worth my looking into.
2. Transiberian Orchestra. It just sounds like "Revenge of the Nerds" Christmas. Remember when the Nerds do their surprise musical routine with electric guitars and computers? This sounds like that. But not in a good way, because I actually love Revenge of the Nerds and I love Christmas.
1. That fucking "Christmas Shoes" song. Seriously. Don't get me started on that low hanging overly sappy song writing. The song doesn't make me sad. It makes me angry.
