For a romantic breakfast or brunch for two, these crepes are great. While the crepes are still soft, the dulce de leche sauce makes them taste even better by adding a sweet and creamy touch.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 1 large egg. 1/2 cup milk. 2 tablespoons melted butter. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/4 cup dulce de leche for sauce. Fresh berries optional, for garnish. Powdered sugar optional, for garnish.
Instructions: Put the flour and salt in a bowl and mix them together. Whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract together in a different bowl until everything is well mixed. Mix the dry and wet ingredients together with a whisk until a smooth batter forms. Spread a little butter or cooking spray on a nonstick skillet and heat it up over medium-low heat. Add a small amount of the crepe batter to the pan and swirl it around to cover the bottom evenly. For one to two minutes, or until the edges begin to lift and the crepe is slightly golden on the bottom, cook. With a spatula, flip the crepe over and cook for another one to two minutes, until the other side is golden too. Do the same thing with the rest of the batter, adding more cooking spray or butter to the pan as needed. When all of the crepes are done, fold them in half and put them on plates to serve. For a few seconds, heat the dulce de leche in the microwave until it can be poured. Put the dulce de leche sauce on top of the crepes. If you want, you can decorate it with fresh berries and powdered sugar. Enjoy your sweet and sour crepes for two with dulce de leche sauce right away!
