As usual insomnia is hitting me hard these past days so I'm thinking thoughts, mainly Ryukoto and Makoharu thoughts, while I try to sleep.
And I can totally see Ryuji becoming more and more aware that his initial crush with Makoto has evolved in something more deep. Meanwhile Haru realizes that the platonic love she feels for her friend is not platonic anymore and she's falling in love with her (and panics a little tbh because, breaking news, Japan is quite an homophobic country)
One day Ryuji says something like "Makoto's so great" thinking that no one is listening. But Haru hears him. They both engage in a conversation about how much they admire her and at a certain point Haru asks "Ryuji, do you like Mako-chan?" and he's about to combust but admits it and she just casually says "What and interesting coincidence, me too"
It takes him a while (a long while) to really get what Haru is implying and when he does Ryuji beams at her and naturally says that then they have something in common.
Instead of making it a competition they support each other and share their thoughts and feelings about Makoto, because seeing her happy is what's more important for them. If Haru noticed in the morning that Makoto's not having a good day she would tell him so he would accompany them for lunch. If Ryuji learns about any new movie Makoto wants to watch, Haru would get tickets for the three of them to go together.
And they're happy like that, being by her side and talking about how much they both love her. And Makoto, being as socially inept as she is, would be completely unaware of all this
