He’d been researching potential cases online, looking at visa so he could stay here, with her. The country was in a bit of a mess right now, but he didn’t mind, so long as he had Clara. He stands, a grin on his face as crosses the room to her, and wraps his arms around her, bringing his face next to hers. “Just like I thought; looks better in close up.” He jokes, placing a kiss on her cheek.

Mud is all over his uniform, his face, mixed with sweat && blood. Disgusting is the first word that comes to mind, but smile breaks the grim at the sight of the small brunette. Girl always seems to come out of thin air, appearing all clean && smiling. A sight for sore eyes some would say. Smile falls down as slim arms tie around him, CONFUSION plain on his face. Girls hugging him are not a common occurence – brain is racked, trying to find a memory of another girl giving him a hug. Needless to say, only motherly love has hugged him.
Arms are limp but lips twitch in a SMILE at her words. Tentatively, hands find the fabric of her vest flesh feeling it through fingerless gloves. Motherly love whispers in his ear to be proper, to be a gentleman. Heart lacks precedents, hands hovering above her body, her body which feels so breakable under newly strong hands. Words can’t escape his throat before Steve clears it softly, ❛ I don’t want to hurt you or, well, to make you uncomfortable. ❜ Awkwardness sticks to his flesh, hands too big, too inexperienced.

Whilst most would probably decline the offer out of politeness, or ask to make sure if it’s truly okay, Clara does neither and reaches out for the jacket before quickly SLIDING into it. Instant warmth spreads through the brunette and she lets out a relieved sigh, once bare arms now saved from turning into ice. “ You’re a LIFESAVER, you know that? Pretty sure I was about to turn into a human ice cube. “

he sometimes FORGETS about the initiation scars on his back. it seems like a life time ago when he got them. a celebratory and permanent mark of his passage from a second to a warrior. from a boy to a man. he got the biggest design possible. perhaps, a sign of the foolish pride of a youth only in their seventeenth winter. it has been so long now it took him a moment to REALIZE what clara was looking at. the gentle touch reminds him, however. reminds him of home. of simpler times.
the contact is soothing and he doesn’t want it to stop, delicate touch of skin on skin. something he hasn’t felt in some time. roan’s eyes cannot help but flutter closed, standing still as if AFRAID if he moves he will shatter the moment. breathing shallows when a new sensation is felt, lips leaving a caress. then there is a bit of a sharp inhale at the second, mouth parting slightly as a warmth is sparked deep in him. he turns around to face her, hardened features smoothed into something softer, something vulnerable and full of DESIRE. before he can retreat from this he lifts a hand, holding her jaws between his fingers as he leans down. there is a few seconds of hesitation, uncertainty, before he meets her mouth with his own.

brows pull together, a hard crease forming between them when she speaks. he knows how it feels to be alone, completely alone. he has been so caught up in how STRANGE her situation is, he never realized how terrifying it must be. how lonely. she is foreign to this place. and she has no people. no clan. just her. it resonates a little too well. lips press together as he lets his gaze shift away. he has never been much of a talker, even less so to speak of himself. but if he can make someone else not have to feel the ACHING pain of isolation, he will.
he shifts his weight where he sits, voice low when he speaks “ my people believe when— ” he pauses. gonasleng words are hard to think of at times. he gives a small shrug “ when our ancestors destroyed this world with bombs. a woman came down from the sky. becca. she saved those who survived by SHARING her blood and they made her their commander. ” he looks down at his pants, picking at worn and faded fabric. “ many worship her now. ”
