Despite Mymy being a satirical and comedic character, I do genuinely find it kind of sad how much she resents her roots. I think it’s safe to say you can indulge in the culture of another country without hating the one you came from. Like not to get serious about Mymy Schoppenboer of all characters, but at the end of the day she’s just this teenage girl who basically hates herself

And that’s not to say I don’t think she’s genuinely happy in the Netherlands just living as a Dutch person, but it IS to say that she is incredibly distraught by anyone even knowing she’s from Japan. Kinda sad just in of itself despite the comedic aspects

No I don’t think Mymy is depressed or mentally fucked or whatever, at least not as she stands now. I think she’s actually doing pretty well for herself. But I imagine that if she stayed in Japan she’d definitely be a lot like Maya (hikikomymy is my cited source here)

I like to think that as she gets older, she kinda chills out. Doesn’t really hate Japan anymore. She doesn’t love it and doesn’t actively participate in the culture because at that point, it doesn’t really feel like hers, she’s become disconnected from it. But she has a healthy relationship with being an immigrant, and I think that’s a good thought

There's something to be said about the fact that Finn is still a beloved character after his whole incident with manipulating Phoebe, but Fionna kisses Phelix and the entire world decides she's scum of the Earth.

No, neither was a good thing for either of them to do. They were both wrong. And it's okay for characters to do bad things and still be good characters/people all around. What's weird is the fandom reception to these actions. Fionna is not as bad as she's being made out to be on Twitter, as with most things.

I'm not even asking you to give her grace without apology or change, if you watch the finale she confronts what she did wrong and tries to fix it. Her wrongdoings make her a stronger character, it makes her real. Real people fuck up. That's just how it is
