the date is friday, july 22nd, 1988. indiana starts to meet record heat on this summer day and while many would love to take a dip in the pool or grill some burgers, no one can peel themselves away from city hall or their televisions as they await for the trial of eddie munson & billy hargrove.

it’s been nearly three weeks since the carnival and one week since the town hall meeting from hell. our heroes are in attendance, for various reasons of their own. to show support for eddie munson, joy for the possibility of seeing billy hargrove get locked up, or general curiosity. after all, it’s been a weird couple of months. maybe this will finally feel like a sense of small town normalcy.

our next event will take place on wednesday (10/5) beginning at 6:00pm est! during this time, all non-event related threads on the dash may continue for the duration of this event, but players are also welcome to get creative and do threads of their own pertaining to the event. the event will take place on discord. the event will run for a week, ending on wendesday (10/12) at 6:00pm est. please read below the cut for further information!

some things to note:

this event will be in one group, meaning that we’re asking those of you who play multiple characters to prioritize and choose just ONE to participate. there is a post in the discord channel #announcements where you can react accordingly with which character you will be participating as. if you do not react, we will assume that you are not participating in this event.

we are nearing our “season one” finale of back to hawkins! how exciting! unfortunately, that just means it’s only going to get weirder, confusing, and more dangerous for our heroes! as always, if you would like for your character to stay unharmed, please let an admin know.

you won’t want to miss this one, heroes! this event just might make you feel like you’re laying upside down on the wheeler couch. who said that? good luck and have fun!

the date is sunday, july 17th, 1988. the sun is almost setting when the town hall meeting begins and our heroes find their seats in what seems to be biggest meeting of the summer.

almost two weeks after the events of the 4th of july carnival, a town hall meeting is held to discuss what happened: the explosion, the losses and the bomb fiasco. the tension can be cut with a knife and the mayor, spencer st. james, doesn’t seem to acknowledge the danger that hawkins might be in... is it our heroes’ turn to take matters into their own hands and try to solve things?

our next event will take place on wednesday (9/14) beginning at 6:00pm est! during this time, all non-event related threads on the dash may continue for the duration of this event, but players are also welcome to get creative and do threads of their own pertaining to the event. the event will take place on discord. the event will run for a week, ending on sunday (9/17) at 6:00pm est. please read below the cut for further information!

some things to note:

this event will take place in two parts. the first part will be held at the town hall meeting, where characters will have the opportunity to share their thoughts about the state of hawkins. the second part will be held at the wheeler’s basement for a debrief after the meeting.

this will be a calmer event, but beware! it is hawkins after all... if you don’t want your characters to be injured in any way, please reach out to us. 

this event will last until sunday. if more time is needed, please reach out to us.

the randomized groups will be revealed on the day of the event when you gain access to your correlating discord event channel.

as usual, this event is going to be split into two groups... but there’s a surprise this time around - you won’t know in which group your character will be put or what that group consists of until the event starts. for now, we’ll call it group a & group b. find the listing below:

our brave heroes attend mayor st.james’ independence day carnival, looking for a fun holiday, but the doppelganger had other plans and displayed the greatest reach of it’s power thus far...

SOME WOULD SAY THAT THIS YEAR'S 4TH OF JULY CARNIVAL WENT OFF WITH A BLAST! ...TOO SOON? OUR HEROES HAVE FINALLY MET THEIR MATCH... THE DOPPELGANGER. IT APPEARED TONIGHT AND WITH THE HELP OF THE SKELETONS, IT WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE MOST EXPLOSIVE NIGHT YET. WHILE SUZIE WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY DISARM THE BOMB, THE SKELETONS STILL SUCCEEDING IN THEIR TASK LEADING TO THE DEATHS OF BELOVED TOWN MEMBERS SUCH AS STOREOWNER HENRY MELVALD, FORMER STARCOURT MALL COP PETEY, MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER SCOTT CLARKE, & HAWKINS HIGH ALUM TESSA CALLOWAY & VICKIE LEVINSON.

- LUCAS SINCLAIR AND SUZIE BINGHAM WERE ATTACKED BY THE DOPPELGANGER. THEY HAVE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES AND MIGHT BE MORE FORGETFUL THE NEXT FEW DAYS. - MAX MAYFIELD AND ROBIN BUCKLEY WERE TAKEN BY THE DOPPELGANGER AND WERE SHOWN HALLUCINATIONS IN THE MIRROR. THE NEXT FEW DAYS, YOU'LL BE SCARED OF LOOKING IN MIRRORS, TERRIFIED THAT YOU MIGHT SEE ANOTHER HALLUCINATION. - MAX MAYFIELD HAS SUSTAINED INJURIES ON HER HANDS DUE TO BREAKING A MIRROR. - THE FOLLOWING ARE CURRENTLY IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER FALLING UNCONSCIOUS (DON'T WORRY, THEY WOKE UP BY THE NEXT DAY!) our heroes learned that, shockingly, something weird is going on with the previously undead! up until this point, there was blissful ignorance that maybe that had truly returned, but vomitting acidic goo and being instrumental in a plot to blow up the carnival has simply washed any of those hopes away.

the doppelganger now has a name! thanks to dustin henderson, lucas sinclair, mike wheeler, and will byers doing some extra credit work, the name is being tossed around the right circles. feel free to use it’s name in your threads. 

skeletons who were under the doppelganger’s influence the night of the carnival received a memory in thanks for helping the doppelganger with it’s plan. while they each have these memories now, the connection between the skeletons and the doppelganger are not explicitly clear, nor are the doppelganger’s origins.

hawkins is currently on fire. beyond the actual explosion, paranoia and division are at an all time high after the deaths and explosion at the carnival are being pinned on eddie munson and billy hargrove. if you thought salem was bad, hawkins is heading down a steeper slope! 

at the sight of the bomb, an indiana department of homeland security van could be seen speeding away from the big top tent after a fence was set up! what could this mean? 

there are more questions than there are answers right now, but it is a great time of grief for the heroes of hawkins. we wish them the best in discovering more.

the date is monday, july 4th, 1988 when our heroes find themselves in attendance of hawkins’ event of the summer! 

mayor st.james is funding this year’s fourth annual independence day carnival. since the lull at lover’s lake, the force tormenting hawkins has fallen oddly silent, those who know the familiar evil of it’s clutches may or may not have gotten comfortable in this brief reprieve. as soon as the sun sets and the lights of the carnival come up, there’s a stinging sensation behind every turn, mistrust, paranoia, and fear gradually swelling as the moon rises high. . .

our next event will take place on friday (8/12) beginning at 7:00pm est! during this time, all non-event related threads on the dash may continue for the duration of this event, but players are also welcome to get creative and do threads of their own pertaining to the event. the event will take place on discord. the event will run for a week, ending on sunday (7/14) at 12:00am est. please read below the cut for further information!

some things to note:

characters will not be split up during this group. they are all present, together, at the carnival. we urge you to follow the golden rule and not split the party, however, this is your sandbox so you can do as you please, but be warned. 

additionally, we encourage everyone to remember events are objective centered. there is something you are trying to accomplish as a group. please bear this in mind and take liberties with dash or discord threads for other plots that take place during the event!

the date is saturday, july 2nd, 1988 when our heroes find themselves sprawled around the wheeler household. for some this is an obligatory event and for other’s it’s the event of the season. the younger crowd might fondly recall attending this barbecue with sparklers in hand as mooneyed little kids and the now college students may to see themselves as broody high schoolers in the bathroom mirror, the adults, however, have lived through all these phases and still can’t get enough! so go on, enjoy another year of fun, the hottest summer in a century can only last so long after all!

this discord exclusive event will take place on monday (8/8), starting at 6:30 PM est! during this time all non-event related threads on the dash may continue for the duration of this event, but players are also welcome to get creative and do threads of their own pertaining to the event. there is no objective or DM for this event, and it is simply one that exists for fun and world building, so feel free to operate as you wish! tomorrow, in the discord, a new category with brand new channels such as “d&d in the basement” or “card games in the kitchen”  (and more!) will be unlocked for everyone to explore and enjoy. these channels will be archived on wednesday (8/10) @ midnight. we hope everyone has fun adventure sandbox-ing!
