─「エウルア」─  there were reports regarding uncommon behaviors from the hilichurls and abyss mages around WOLVENDOM, and the lawrence heir took it upon herself to investigate personally. there had been increasing disturbance within MONDSTADT itself these past few weeks. the recent discovery of  irminsul fruit fragments caused quite a bit of an uproar as well. as the grass crunched beneath her feet, what had her GLOVED HAND reach for the hilt of her claymore was a sight of a certain ginger-haired male among the now defeated group of hilichurls.

                “ so, what’s one of the fatui harbingers doing in mondstadt ? ” though her voice wasn’t exactly threatening, the way she clutched at her WEAPON spoke that she was ready to get into a battle should it turn that way. following the major incident in LIYUE and death of geo archon, the KNIGHT was more skeptical of them than usual.

“. . . .?” A look of question was thrown the man’s way, hand rising to tug back golden hair from her face. “Did you need me for something, Zhongli?” There was a small tilt of her head then, a small smile touching her lips, though the gesture lacked its usual warmth and energy. “I didn’t think anyone else would be here in these parts.” She had found a secluded clearing to kind of sit in, staring at the river bank just ahead of her. So, needless to say, she was surprised to have been discovered.

     It was a rare occurrence for the two men to meet and partake in one anothers company these days. With one running an entire city state and the other gallivanting about in Garlean territory, to find them both allowed free time was a special moment. One Aymeric found precious to himself knowing full well this could be their last time at any moment. Nonetheless they sat together in his manor, watching the flame flicker in his fireplace as they took this small moment of peace between the storms they both faced now. It was nice even if fleeting.

“So, you’re a Scion now? And here I thought you’d always be but a lone wolf.” The young Lord Commander teased Estinien with a soft chuckle. “Tis good for you, truly. I always said you needed someone watching your back.” Aymeric smiled softly at his dearest friend. “You’ve come a long way.”

She’s been so engrossed in what she was reading, she didn’t hear the other approach — which wasn’t so much of a big deal, being in town. Had it been anyone else that had snuck up on her. A sharp exhale through her nose escaped her, swallowing the lump in her throat; it took her all the amount of will power she had to not physically jump at the sudden voice. And she just hoped that Childe did not notice it — however unlikely that may be. 

Folding up the map, which she had clutched to her chest in her moment of fright, honey hues flickered to him. “What trouble did you bring with you this time?” She quipped, though there was a tinge of amusement underlining her voice.

─「エウルア」─  “ why does everything have to involve weapons with you ? can’t it just be a normal dance ? the waltz, maybe ? something beautiful and elegant instead of ... violent ? ” sword dance is also elegant, of course, but she wasn’t going to say that.

“I advise you not to listen to senseless rumors. People around here have nothing better to do but talk.” Though, he supposed, he should take bit of info with a grain of salt. Things have been quiet as of late within Mondstadt, so what do they do to pass their time? Spread rumors. “Though why tales of the Darknight Hero would interest you is beyond me.” A roll of his eyes and a well-placed poker face. He had thought that those rumors were put to rest by now, but it seems like the thinning trickle has reached new ears. He had put that role to rest, not that he ever picked it up intentionally to begin with.

 It all stems from people and their idle time and boredom; he was just doing his civic duty of protecting his city, his way, without the attention of others. Not because he was necessarily trying to be secretive for an undermining reason, but rather, he simply preferred to work alone.

─「ルキナ」─  “ hehe ... is this a praise for my performance in the last training session, professor ? does that mean i did good ? ” the EXALT was beaming from ear to ear, feeling that warmth rise from inside her chest and couldn’t help nuzzling to the gentle hand. was she looking like a puppy being praised by the person she likes ? maybe.
