I'm losing my MIND over the shots we got from thr BTSV announcement but genuinely???
I need everyone to look at this frame of Miles, right
From this angle, he looks incredibly determined, like he's done dealing with everyone's shit and he's going to get this done! He's going to save his dad! He's got this!
Hell, he even looks a little pissed off - which, rightfully so, I think a lot of people would be feeling pretty angry if they were in Miles' shoes. Personally, had I been capable, I would've done my best to do more than just elbow Miguel in the face a couple of times like he did in ATSV (pop off king).
However, determination is not the only thing I see there. Literally the day after these frames dropped, I noticed that his expression wasn't really just grim determination, there was something else there too. Naturally, the best way to check this was to, yknow, flip the image-
And suddenly, you get THIS.
Yes, the determination is there, but it is fucking miniscule compared to everything else in that expression.
That's not just a determined face, y'all. I see doubt in the way Miles' eyebrows are positioned and how his mouth is pulled up at the one corner. There's a faint flicker of annoyance somewhere in there, like he's dealing with something he really doesn't want to (which is pretty much the whole situation let's be real). His worry lines are prominent to the point where its clear he's been making similar faces for HOURS at this point, which are clear indicators of anxiety.
But most of all, it's the way that he's not quite looking at the camera, almost like he staring past it or through it at something or someone we can't see. It's the way he's holding his shoulders even despite the injuries he's sustained so far, which is again, pretty much all of them.
It's the way that there's deeper lines under Miles' eyes. That kid is not just determined, he's absolutely exhausted by everything going on.
And it's absolutely FASCINATING to me that seeing what's actually going on on his face, how different the interpretations can be, is quite literally all just a matter of perspective.
When he's upside down, he's determined, he's capable, he's ready to prove that he can be Spider-Man. When he's right side up, he's nothing short of broken and tired and ready to for the whole situation to be over, and somehow he has to fix it.
Just an interesting thing I saw while looking over the pictures, and I am SO HYPED FOR JUNE 4TH 2027 :D
