What makes a strong female character? Not what you would think and not what most TV art/entertainment would depict in a female character who is a fighter. Who often puts their fists first before their thoughts because they’re desperate to come to a resolution or a victory.
“Vi was strong because she was afraid. Her fear of losing us is what made her fight so hard.”
You can make a woman a tank but without vulnerability, their strength is nothing but physical and violent force.
It’s vulnerability that makes strength and power in the heart and soul and not just the body. It’s what we have to lose more than what we have to gain. Representing this in a female character is what a strong female is.
Very few pieces of TV art/entertainment get this right.
Put respect on this character’s name. Vi is a fucking breath of fresh air we’ve needed for a long time now.
She’s built like a tank. She moves like a tank. But her strength comes from what’s inside. Her vulnerability.
It’s a contradiction. I know.
But Arcane thrives on contradiction.
