how did pond and bubbles meet?

OOHH OOOOH THIS IS A FUN ONE !! * cracks knuckles *

they met as reaaaaally young kids, like, as toddlers. bubbles's dad and pond's mom were friends and kind of associates (since blake's a toon councilmember and stream is a detective) AND they were neighbors, so it was only natural that bubbles and pond would meet eventually! pond was kind of grumpy and mean as a kid as opposed to bubbles being a Literal Ray Of Sunshine, so it was kind of a war of attrition where bubbles would try REAAAAALLLLYYYYY hard to get pond to hang out with him while pond was like >:( ...

of course they eventually ended up being friends, and got really close and would venture out on all sorts of Antics™️ together, often of the cog-busting, "don't tell my dad and i won't tell your mom" variety. even now as somewhat-adults they're still the best of friends (and gay) and often get into similar Antics™️ together still!
