Rudaki, the Father of Persian Poetry
Rudaki, painting by Hossein Behzad (1894–1968) in 1958. Rudaki is regarded as the father of Persian poetry. Despite his prolific output, only a small portion of his work has survived. In addition to his original compositions, Rudaki translated several books from Arabic into Persian.
