I have many thoughts about an elaborate silicon valley au where they're a food VC startup instead of tech (which still has a major hub in SF but I'm not sure where EXACTLY) but I keep hitting the immediate stumbling block of not having an equivalent product to Pied Piper for them to be developing.

If I wanted to keep the name it could obviously still have been pie originally-- like Richard was working on some kind of microwaveable hand pie and stumbled into a technical unlock related to a larger area like dough processing or protein?

The first household coffee maker wasn't available until 1972, so that's an electric percolator up there. People were just drinking dogshit coffee in the 60s and I respect that.
