True. My friend is Hatian, so hers was plenty french. Have you seen that book on names about how a person lives up to the ideas evoked from their name?

I don't think so? I've read the chapter of Freakanomics on naming, but that's about it. most of my name-related literature is just new baby name books!

My first friend in college was named Amelie and now I will forever have a love of that name. It's sweet but doesnt evoke thoughts of the person being a pushover...at least to me. Lovely choices.

thanks! i love names! Amelie is definitely nice, but would never get onto a numbered list of mine! it reminds me too much of the film and Amelia is too popular, also, i can't say it without a french accent!

And some of them are ok and aome not. Lime you've probs heard a person named Dakota, but not like...Oregon, because that's weird. BUT WHY IS IT WEIRD??? just a thought. I dislike geographic names in general, I think. I like older names.

yeah! but like there was a thing and it was like name ur child nevada and i was like no way! I can't even imagine naming a kid Carolina :/

some geographic names are okay imo, but that's mainly ones that started out as people names and became place names (like Adelaide)

yeah me too! sort of. idk. my top twenties are here and i used to be really specific about names (had to be a certain level of unpopularity, but known and had to have a nice meaning and good nickname potentials and be easy to spell and say and have good possibilities for middles and age well and not have any negative connotations historically/in the media, etc) but then I realized that I'm not going to have 40 kids and if I ever do have kids, it's not going to be for a very long time so it really doesn't matter! so my lists are pretty relaxed now.

(and it was actually 12)

(and the hottest it got today was 23ish)

(and the hottest it's been this summer is like 33)

(but you live in Texas so it's gotta be hot, man! that's like the most south you can go while staying in the US!)
