Free To Use Mini-Dungeon Map for Tabletop RPG; Sandbox Crypt

hey all, first original post here here’s a fairly simple but dynamic crypt to use as you see fit for your dicegame roleplaying needs ~

it comprises of; an above-ground mausoleum entrance; an entrance hall; 2 galleries; 1 chapel chamber; 2 side crypts; 1 grand crypt; 1 hidden passage to a special burial chamber; and 1 hidden tunnel to a vault.

i’ll be adding a base-line no-nonsense 5e version of this with encounters for a starter level party under the cut fairly soon if you want something to build off first

this is just an example of a basic way to use this map for a party of four 1st level players! feel free to mess with it all you like, print it and play with it!

T H E   L O S T   O R D E R

This mausoleum stands at the far end of a forest glade, weathered and made of pale stone. The easiest entrance into the area is still partially blocked by an enormous fallen pediment; the scuffed remains of an emblem on the pediment has been eaten away by time. Among the trees are crumbling perimeter walls, nearly absorbed into the earth and covered with ivy. The rest of the glade is uneven over buried walls, some sturdier arcades and statues still peek out of the long grass and wildflowers, but this structure has somehow fared the best by far. The dented and tarnished remains of a decorative round shield emblazoned with a sun, and crossed gladius swords lean against a huge nearby column. Smaller grave monuments poke out of the grass just outside the mausoleum. The same swords and shield symbol is just visible carved over the entrance to the tomb. The roof has come away but the walls are still standing and not leaning too hard.

MAUSOLEUM The wooden double doors are hanging off the frame, slumped and lying open. The floor is littered with fallen roof tiles, crumbled stone, and leaf litter from the forest outside. Two badly damaged statues stand either side of the hall, just discernible as having been larger-than-life figures facing towards the entrance. Past the statues’ pedestals, stairs go downwards.

ENTRANCE HALL The staircase opens out into a hall, which is dimly lit by pinpoints of glowing from the ceiling (Upon closer inspection DC10 a player can tell these are lightly enchanted gemstones in the patterns of stars). Two halls lead away on either side, and right ahead two statues flank a door. One of the two statues has fallen over and lies shattered on the floor, the other is a little worn but is mostly intact, appearing to be replicas of the others above ground. It shows a human figure wearing a simple tunic, a pot helmet with cheek-pieces and brush plume, and holding a gladius sword and a round sun-patterned shield, with a second sword across its back.

How to install:

Download the map.

Extract file.

Click on the Start Menu in Windows.

Type run into the search box, and select the Run program at the top of the results.

Type %appdata% into the Run program, and press Enter.

Go to .minecraft/saves folder.

Drag extracted map folder into that.

Start Minecraft.

Enjoy and play!
