I am at home here on Tumblr which remains my favourite space to post my content and build and expand my SK creative works.

I post all my fics and art work here - and post my experimental writing over on my side blog @beyond-fd. I keep all my latest work in an easy to find pinned “master post” on my blog. My completed works then go on AO3 in full. But the majority of my writing and content lives here.

I love interacting with the sk community, but I get rather nervous and anxious about this sort of thing. I prefer to stay in my comfort zone and struggle to engage in wider online spaces like Discord and social media. I’ve been very fortunate to make friends in this community, which has been the highlight of my creative experience. I have some truly incredible supporters of my work who have become really amazing online friends of mine. It’s those amazing people who have really kept me going all this time. ✨✨

I love to indulge and support other’s creative work because I know what kind of high it gives me when anyone enjoys my work or engages with me. I studied Art & Design and Animation at Higher Education Level at University, but typically practiced more traditional animation and illustration, only experimenting with a traditional digital pen and tablet at uni (and I still created sk art back then ahaha). My husband bought me an iPad and Apple Pencil for my birthday 4+ years ago and I have predominantly used Procreate to produce Shaman King fan art work to coincide with my SK AU ever since - the first full piece I ever created being the Vol 1 cover. Since then my confidence has grown exceptionally, and I am now very comfortable and happy with my Procreate skills - and here I am, still creating work for the exact same reason I wanted to try Procreate in the first place.

I have loved Shaman King ever since the original anime first aired on UK television which I think was around 2002 - 2003. I originally watched the English dub and fell in love with “Zeke” Asakura, and of course his twin brother Yoh. It was my very first anime - and for some reason it got under my skin and never truly left. I have core memories engaging with the online fandom even back when social media wasn’t really a thing. I found others who loved SK on “Piczo”, YouTube and DeviantArt - and I’m still friends with some of them to this day. I started obsessively writing fanfiction for SK when I was 14/15 - some of which still exists. I remember how writing fanfiction for my favourite series induced so much joy in me back then. So it’s wonderful that I have found that same passion again in adulthood.

I’ll sign this off with a quick little nod to my FD journey. I began writing sk fanfiction again around 2021 after the new anime announcement. I was heavily inspired to try writing for the fandom again by another sk fic writer creator - and at the time I remembered how back in the early 2000’s I was immensely inspired by my favourite band LINKIN PARK when writing for SK. And so I began listening to their music for ideas and inspiration. Eventually that became a core element for FD as a whole, blending the two mediums of story telling together. This element of my storytelling in FD is really close to my heart.

And I think the most amazing thing to come out of this whole journey is my one and only SK OC “alt” character - known affectionately as “Alt Hao.” So I leave you with him at the end of this. Please be kind to him, he deserves the world. ✨✨
