OH BOY WOULD I!!!!! first step: blame @babydotcom bc it was their birthday that i had written a chitkoda oneshot for, which really kickstarted it for me lol i also have a chitbakoda prompt from tay in my askbox so, you know, it never ends <33
chitkoda it's really just hot beefy revolutionary x hot headstrong chief = antics. like if you took two different versions of street smarts and smushed them together, you'd create one Extremely Capable couple but also one that leaves everyone just a little on edge constantly bc they're a little too carefree in jumping into any adventures if they know the payoff will be good
(which is extremely fun for them and they both deserve this kind of lightness and spontaneity in their life but also sokka is going to have a heart attack)
but mostly: chit sang tall. and hakoda needing to lift his chin to look up at him all the time? perfect.
chit sang/king bumi oh.....hot. hot hOT HOT. MEGA HOT. you can pry this fact out of my cold dead hands let king bumi think he's getting a sugar baby and let chit sang think he's ending up with a sugar daddy—
but then night one, bumi takes off his robes. okay, hot.
then later he shows off how he's a mf beast of an earthbender who can surpass chit sang's own strength. hot.
and then chit sang finds out he's great at effective communication. and knows how to set boundaries. and loves a good food festival and can make some really great puns, all while also being someone who takes genuine joy in wreaking havoc everywhere he can, and well: HOT.
they play one (1) game on who can collect the juiciest recon from other patrons during some fancy party, and when they end up tied at the end of the night and fully impressed by the findings—whoops! this is feeling a little too close to love here!
it'd be the funniest mf reality for them to catch feelings, i think they'd both be a little shocked/bummed (bumi was only trying to check sugar daddying off his bucket list smh) but also strangely...excited (?) bc. huh. they weren't expecting they'd find happiness like this, and it's....really wonderful, actually
(aang thinks its adorable, toph thinks it's awesome, but the rest of the gaang have no idea how they feel about it lol esp zuko, who's the first to see them together at some later event. he's been fire lord for long enough that he knows the proper pleasantries/ etc but as soon as he tries to greet chit sang he's just like ".....what title do i even use for you...." and chit sang is just frozen bc he has no damn clue either lmaoo)
