Just thought I would do a quick arm comparison photo. The top picture is my arm two years ago, and the bottom one is what my arm looks like today. I’ve had three corrective surgeries for my arm since stage one RFF phalloplasty and the journey is not over yet... but despite that, it looks a hell of a lot better. The human body is amazing. 🙌 . . Why I have needed corrective surgeries: #1 the use of integra as it was not used properly. #2 they took my graft too far up on my hand. #3 they didn’t take a thick enough graft from my thigh. 😩 . . Surgeries had since stage one: neuroma removal and nerve graft, lymph re-routing and fat grafting ( for hand swelling ), scar revision and fat grafting. . . I’ve got more to go to help with my nerve issues and tightness. Thankfully I have a great microsurgeons working with me now ( Dr. Lin ) Perhaps I will share more thoughts on my arm in a future post. I am two years post-op phalloplasty today. Hard to believe two years have already gone by! 😮 . . Going into surgery I had no idea that The next couple years would be filled with having surgery every few months or so... either for a stricture repair or an arm graft revision. However, I am happy to report that I am now stricture free and I only have one more phalloplasty surgery ahead of me and that is for the erectile device in September. This chapter in my life is finally coming to a close in the near future. People always ask if it was worth it with all of the complications it entailed. 100% yes! No ones life is complication free and to me, the biggest complication was not being born with a penis so really... how much worse could it get? 😂 This surgery was no easy task but I’ve come our way stronger in the end because of it. . . So thankful to be living in a time where medicine allows for me to feel more aligned in my body and for my surgeons ( Dr. Chen and Dr. Lin specifically). If you are thinking of pursuing phalloplasty in the future my biggest tips would be: 1. Research your surgeons and the procedure ahead of time. 2. Therapy: you will need to mentally prepare yourself for both good and bad outcomes and also post-op depression. ( its inevitable so don’t think you are special and will escape it ). 3. A good support system: Friends, family, etc. you are going to need help. Maybe even someone willing to wipe your butt 😆 . . Happy 2nd Birthday to my penis! I have had some concerns regarding my implant surgery so I sent Dr. Chen a few questions and I go over his answers.

First day back at the gym where I was cleared to work my upper body post-op. Unfortunately I’ve got some nerve pain when I extend my wrist but hopefully it dies down as I heal more. Either way it felt amazing to be able to lift. Lifting weights has been the most effective anti-anxiety for me. 🙌 . . Only a few more days and then I’ll be out of the gym again for a stricture repair but luckily not for long. (April 25th). But then June 20th is the day I’m most anxious about. 😫 . . I’ll be having stage one of a two stage knee surgery. My medial meniscus is basically gone and I’m already starting to develop arthritis. ( I tore my meniscus too many times playing sports when I was younger ) At this rate, I’ll need a knee replacement in my 40’s. 😢 . . Stage one my surgeon will be doing a high tibial osteotomy to take the pressure off my medial side of my knee, then stage two ( in December ) I’ll be having a meniscus transplant. ( kinda weird to think I’ll be getting someone else’s cartilage 😳). . . I thought about putting this off. Six weeks of non weight bearing is no joke, but that would only delay the inevitable and if all goes well I may not need a knee replacement at all 🙌 . . Until June 20th I will be working in staying as healthy as possible both mentally and physically. #tbt one day post-op stage one phalloplasty when I was less than thrilled to be nauseous af. 😂 . . Man, it’s been quite a journey. A question I get quite often is “was it worth it? Even with the complications?” My simple answer is YES. Life is full of complications. My first complication started at birth when I was born without a penis. 😂 This journey of phalloplasty has been extended past what I would have predicted but I’m still so incredibly grateful. The complications although annoying have been minor. I’ve had to work around having surgeries more than I would like but this is just what I’ve been dealt for this season if life. It is just a season, it will end, and yes it will have been worth it. ❤️ . . Struggle is what makes us stronger humans. It makes us feel, learn, grow. I’ve grown so much over the past couple years. Despite the struggle, life is good. Some post-op pics of my arm in comparison to pre-op. I am 11 days post op fat grafting and scar revision with Dr. Lin at the Buncke clinic. I still have a good amount of swelling but so far I’m super happy with the results. Once I get my mobility back and things heal up I have a feeling this is going to make a huge difference in the discomfort I have been feeling while I lift. 🙌 . . My wrist looks a little weird because that is where they packed in the fat they grafted so that my graft would no longer be adhered to my muscle and allow for more movement in my wrist. A good amount of it will dissolve but the hope is enough of it will stick around to improve my movement. I get my stitches out Friday so I’m hoping to be cleared for some light lifting after that. 🙌 . . I’m having a mild stricture repaired on the 25th with Dr. Chen.
