Statement from Buncombe County Schools after the meeting: "We have appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Bruce family and discuss the issues. We sincerely regret that the issue of being told to leave the bookbag at home was perceived as blaming Grayson. While that was not the intent, the perception became reality." Yes. Yes it was blaming Grayson. How dare you try to absolve yourselves of blame? You mandated that a non-conforming student end their non-conforming behavior to avoid being harassed for being non-conforming. You clearly stated that Grayson's behavior was the source of his bullying, not his bullies. I am glad that you've seen the error of your ways, but don't you dare try to say were never wrong.
