Magnolia Bungler While very small, Setophaga magnolia is not hard to spot – they tend to stay in low conifer trees, and its bright yellow and black markings make this dumbfuck pretty conspicuous for a wood warbler. As is often true of birds who consider themselves very attractive, they are shallow.

Bird Fact: It’s scientific name, Setophaga, is from the Ancient Greek words for “moth eating”, but they aren’t actually that discriminating, because in addition to caterpillars, butterflies, fruit and spiders, this fool is also known for eating parts of fir branches.

Bungler is the work of Paul Hewes (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) who is pretty up-front about his mental health struggles and the important role of music in his life.

"Glen Providence" is a cassette release by label Strange Mono (also Philadelphia). This is indie pop/rock - kind of straight ahead, but with some interesting chords and progressions.

Hewes vocals kind of remind me of Thom Yorke crossed with Tap Tap and/or Pete & The Pirates.
