Ah more bunny people. I've gotten so far as they're long time pals and both wound up in school through sports scholarships. The vibe bein "we are very manly and not at all gay" then ofc they are very gay. WE love a "forbidden love" angle. As a queer who just exuded it the closet was simply never an option and I like exploring these stories as a warped reframing of my own vulnerability. Sounds a lil wild to consider the closet cathartic but when life never gave you the option to select safety it's calming to consider a world where I might have called the shots on who knew about my sexuality or transition rather than bein called on it and outed at every turn. There's also some notion of the longing I have to just be a fucking gay cis man, being trans is so confusing and complicated and ultimately all the intervention in the world wont settle the fundamental wound I'm carrying around, it's on me- either to accept permanance or locate the infection.
Ultimately it's a horny story that indulges in reframing a dogshit situation. Trust in your buddy, a shared secret and a pact to keep one another safe- all while stewing in the turmoil that comes with keeping parts of yourself hidden. Just cus you can fight doesn't mean you can shrug off the social and emotional ramifications of losing family, friends and options to something as arbitrary as sexual orientation.
Anyway, their names are Sky (hat) and River (big guy)
