An important lesson we can learn from plants, especially those considered "weeds", is that if a system does not work for you, grow around it.

Dandelions cannot thrive trapped under a concrete roof, so they twist and spread and sprout between the cracks.

Tree roots will find their way through foundations and bricks to feed the tree.

Brambles will climb up and over fences designed to keep them out, if what's beyond let's them grow.

A sunflower in a pot will face the sun, not the room it's owner so desperately wants it to decorate.

Do what you need to do to thrive, irregardless of what others think you should do.

A super important part of working with nature and elemental spirits (especially spirits associated with the air/sky) is to remember that you are literally always touching the sky.

We so often refer to the sky as being "up there" that we forget that everything above the ground is a part of the atmosphere. You can feel the wind on your skin and breathe sky into your lungs.

We often view the earth and nature as being "out there" beyond our scope but you are literally standing on it right now.

Take a moment, become aware of the ground supporting your weight and the air all around and remember that you are *never* away from nature and spirit. YOU ARE nature and spirit.

Today I'm heading out for a short bushcraft course (hopefully the first of many) - this one intends to cover the very basics; knots, fire lighting, shelters etc!

It's run by some incredibly knowledgeable people, and is targeted towards young queer people, which is incredibly exciting!!!

Helpol is definitely one of the biggest pagan communities on tumblr and as a non-hellenic pagan I just wanna say that I love the helpol community so much!

I always see so many beautiful devotional posts on my feed, or informative posts that are amazingly detailed and well-researched and it is SO wonderful to see the community thriving, even though I often feel stuck on the outside (which may be my social anxiety lmao). I just always enjoy it so much, it is so lovely.
