Yes, I think I’ve addressed this prior but you can spot this in Moon 7 more closely.

Root keeps parts of her parent’s pelts in her nest as a way to cope and soothe herself to sleep. Personally, I think there is also a level of guilt that guides that choice as well.

(Also, she didn’t skin them. Just waited till it was loose enough to pull off which… is almost worse?? imo??)

Rootkit: My littermates died when we were born, and everyone else died when the clan got sick...

Its kinda interesting how Root doesnt talk about her dad much, just her mothers. Will he appear sometime soon?

Think of Burnstar and Blizzardmoon as a God and Priest… a figurehead and a mouthpiece. He is not nearly as involved in his children’s lives, but he looms over them as something untouchable and infallible. Their Mother, however, is the one who truly did everything, so she’s much more involved on a physical level.

He may be relevant later on, but not in the same way as Blizzard nor Venom.

Burntstar, how do you feel about the current happenstances of your clan?

Burnstar: Starclan tests us in ways we can never imagine... I have to believe there was reason behind all of this. I trust my daughter to grow Hymnclan into a clan unlike we have ever seen before, and I will guide her pawsteps as much as I can. Even if the stars will otherwise.
