Is Burstale abandoned?

Hello Aymar, just wanted to know if Burstale was abandoned or is covid being such a bitch that it keeps wanting your preceious attention? :)

Seriously though, is this wonderfully crafted story abandoned or just in hiatus?

Hi, well it's not abandoned, at least... not anymore? Various things kept delaying it, add to that a pinch of lost interest.

But me and @keru-the-green have it to heart to reach the end of this comic <3

I just don't know how much time it will take, nor the frequency at which we will be updating, but we do plan on continuing that's for sure.

Just wanted to say i read the first release of bursttale a long time ago but I never realy had the time to read more of it but it’s realy good and that made it stick out In my mind from time to time just remembering it every so often and now wat feels (or is) a few years later I finally had the time to read it and damn it was worth remembering it for all that time also I want to know how is it to make something like this? I’m getting back to drawing and also redrawing some of it digitally so seeing how bursttale was made or stuff like sketches would be realy cool and helpful for me to see how it’s done :)

That's sweet of you, thank you, really happy to hear that Burstale stood out for some people. For the "how it's made" I can only talk in details about the creation of the story and dialogues and their merge with @keru-the-green's drawn and edited pages, for sketches and such I'll see if we can post some of the older chapters.

There's one thing wrong about burstale. Chara is killing everyone to teach them a “lesson” so they don't go to the surface. But how is that going to make a difference if there already dead. And does she know when she resets everyone forgets everything? Or did she think they can all remember like Sans?

I might have not phrased that part that well in the comic;

She does know everyone forgot, BUT through the many runs, monsters’ behaviors started to change even so slightly, monsters had feelings of “deja-vu” even though they didn’t “remember” consciously; they “felt”, it was like remnants of the previous runs, for example, they started talking about the humans and the surface less instinctively, because even though they didn’t remember, their souls “felt” and “remembered” those many deaths.

At the start she noticed the concept in very mundane situations, like the ice cream guy having the “feeling” that someone will come and deplete his stock of chocolate ice cream (she did so through many runs).

In a sense, Chara is traumatizing their souls, they will develop an INNATE fear toward anything that ties to humans and the surface, that way the monsters will give up on the surface on their own and without them even knowing why, for they “just felt like it.”

Idk honestly, lots of stuff happened since last time, but in the end it will come down to funds, but yeh I wanna get done with it, it’s like my spirit’s one lingering regret that needs to be done for me to rest in peace lol

Does she even care about the monsters? If she didn't want them then why did she eat the butter cups so Asriel could absorve her souls TO FREE THEM? Or did she wanted to kill Asriel in the begining?

I will simply say childhood foolishness and past mistakes, the more detailed answer would be that she [DATA EXPUNGED] and the surface was [DATA EXPUNGED].

Well, since there won't be the Undying, is it possible you could show us how it would look like? And also, since when can Gaster phiscaly affect the Underground? Since he wasn't able to (or didn't want to?) stop Burst from attacking.

So, not only do we next face Sans, who this Chara never overcame, and likely has the strongest links to Gaster... but we also have her confronting Asgore...? I must admit, I can't wait to see how these confrontations go down. As Sans is already quite fatalsitic imo, and Asgore... well, Asgore is willing to kill to keep people's hope alive.

Indeed; actually like I said in the few first runs of Burst she wasn’t killing she was more ACTing but she couldn’t convince them; and for an unknown reason even when she killed no one; Sans bullied the crap out of her whenever she reached the Judgement hall without a reason.

About Asgore…Burst takes Asgore wish about; how she IS their HOPE really to heart; you can say that it’s one of the only 2 things keeping her alive; if Asgore himself was stubborn to refuse her changes; she would still kill him; but very painfully; as in her heart; after Asriel; comes Asgore.

The only thing that allows her to keep on the slaughter is her full trust in her ABILITY to Undo things; to Reset.

I’ll hurt them; I’ll kill them; and I’ll bring them back. I’ll change them.

She doesn’t see herself in their future tho…

Not a real question, but more encouragement. I rarely follow anything related to the Undertale fandom or "AU"s because it's too damn cringeworthy, toxic or just rehash after rehash after rehash about the same boring things without any depth. Nothing really can make up for the original game. But: Bursttale has redeeming qualities; it looks amazing, it's different, the characters are interesting, the dynamics are interesting. Please do keep up, it's the only good Undertale-fan comic.

Yesterday only i finished writing (till 5am rip college at 8am) what i think is a pretty decent prequel for BURSTALE!! i will be sharing it very soon (Grammatical and spelling check! and maybe i’ll make some arrangement of words in Photoshop for the title!)
