Trace Mountains - Buttery Sprouts
I want to to eat something alright
have a heart attack tonight
I'm watching my weight somehow messing with fate
I'm aiming to clog every artery by age 28
albums:: Trace Mountains - buttery sprouts
as the Dave half of the Spook Houses solo project extravaganza, Trace Mountains is the one that most closely embraces the fuzzy folk that was so well perfected on Trying (you should go check out the excellent other half Flashlight O as well). in buttery sprouts, we're given seven tape hiss hazy tracks musing about the titular sprouts, the silver jews, and salty/sweet snacks, and you'll wonder how sincere a rihanna cover can be in 2014. highlights 'when it's dark' and 'butter sprouts' prove that while its the oldest trick in the book, the quiet/loud/quiet song structure is the best trope in indie rock. with this record out, i can finally get over my need for a new spook houses album and enjoy life in the present. spook houses is dead, long live trace mountains
